  1. You might appreciate this. Footage of Ballet Russes was found in a basement in Australia, showing them playing on their off-days in the late 30′s and early 40′s. This was then re-edited by a film-maker Gillian Lacey and set to music by Alexander Balanescu: http://www.reeldance.org.au/moving-image-collection/mic?sobi2Task=sobi2Details&catid=2&sobi2Id=1350588

    I saw the Balanescu Quartet perform this work live in Oxford (in front of a projection) a few years ago and it was one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen.
